I Let My Neck be Free! Notes from a Tree Trunk…

Walking my dog Maisie yesterday I sat exhaustedly on the trunk of a fallen beech tree and put my hands on my head and prayed ‘what would you have me say, think or do next?’ To my amazement the breakdown of the words below came to me to be written. I walked home across the field thinking ‘I let my neck be free, I let my neck be free…’ feeling re-energised and re-membered and wrote these notes from a tree trunk…

I – The self, all of you – emotions, physicality, actions, health, spirit, hopes and dreams, your life, your individuality, your presence…

Let – to allow, to truly not know,  to get out of our own way, to trust, to empower, to enable, to grant…

My – belonging to me, self responsibility, self worth, self care, taking responsibility for how we think, feel move, respond, behave… My is also etymologically related to muscle!

Neck – the junction between brain and torso,  a delicate and complex structure atop of which balances your heavy head. A continuation of the spine…

Be – present, in the moment, right now, time, to exist..

Free – potential, unlimited, unrestricted, unified, whole, complete…

We really do have the choice of freedom and these words ‘I let my neck be free’ are truly a key. Yesterday I was reminded by a tree, to keep reminding myself to ‘let my neck be free!’ I hope the notes are useful?

I let my neck be free. It’s just a thought. Do not try and do it!

Forward and up and stay safe

Love Kirsten
